Countach QV #GLA12997

Because the stainless steel exhaust with the catalysts produces so much heat we decided to insulate the exhaust pipes and luggage compartment.

I drove up to Zürich to my friend with the charged LP400s 1121228, first he showed me his new kevlar mirror and the shifting gate, awsome!!!

We unmounted the exhaust muffler and put on the selfglueing foil, it's a special product, made of fibreglass wool of 10mm thickness and covered with a sheet of aluminium foil.
I attached it directly with the existing screws of the heat shield and an aluminium ledge which is normally used to fix a carpet's end on the floor.
The exhaust pipes were now wrapped with "Cool it" exhaust jackets, a extremly troublesome work, since there is hardly any space to move and work between the engine and the frame.

As you can see my car is very oily, I got black arms like never before, my distributor leaks oil which is pouring down the block.

When driving home I could recognize a lower water and oil temp, after parking the car in the garage I checked also the luggage compartment, the difference was really remarkable, before it got really hot inside, now it had a little bit higher temperature than outside. Also the engine compartment was much cooler than before. It really seems we made a good improvement.
